What does a Health Coach’s coffee order look like? Tips for a blood sugar balancing and hormone friendly coffee

WHAT DOES A HEALTH COACH’S COFFEE ORDER LOOK LIKE?

If you’re like me, finding a quaint and cozy coffee spot to crank out some work or gather with a friend is a favorite simple pleasure. And the even better news is regardless of which coffee shop you go to, there are always options to meet your tasty expectations while also getting you closer to or helping you maintain your goals!

Below are some of my favorite coffee shop orders, I’ve included both caffeine and caffeine free options (hint: if you’re at a coffee shop past 1 or 2PM, go for a caffeine-free option!). Bonus if you can find a coffee spot that uses locally roasted beans and organic milks and creamers!

With caffeine:

Mocha (hot or iced) – ask for 1 pump of syrup and almond milk, no whip or added chocolate drizzle, if you want more sweetness, add a stevia packet, if you’d like it creamier, add a splash of cream

Latte (hot or iced) – almond milk and add a splash of cream if you’d like it creamier! You can add in a dash of cinnamon for blood sugar balance and flavor:)

Cappuccino – almond milk or whole milk if getting smaller size

Green tea and black tea (hot or iced) – make sure no strips are added if iced, add honey for sweetness!

Flat white – whole milk and small size

Cold brew – lots of caffeine here so you only need a small or medium! Feel free to add cream or almond milk and stevia for a bit of added sweetness

Matcha latte – ask if the matcha is sweetened first as some coffee shops use very sugary blends of matcha; if not, a matcha latte with honey and almond milk is a great drink choice; add a splash of cream if you’d like it creamier and honey for sweetness:)

Brewed coffee – with splash of cream if you’d like:)

Vanilla latte (hot or iced) – ask for a single pump of syrup, almond milk and extra splash of cream if you want it creamier! Add stevia for extra sweetness

Without caffeine:

Iced herbal tea (fruity and floral teas like hibiscus or berry flavor profiles) – ask for no sweetener and if you’d like it sweetened, add in a stevia packet

ANY of the above coffee drinks and just order decaf or half caf!

NOTE: If you are having a drink with syrups (vanilla latte/mocha for instance), I do not recommend the sugar free syrups but rather only having a single pump and smaller size of the real syrup version. Sugar free syrups in coffee shops are almost exclusively sweetened with sucralose and aspartame type sweeteners which can cause issues in the gut (i.e. bloating😣) and even make us crave more sweetness! Instead, opt for stevia and honey as sweeteners when possible:) You can also carry your own stevia in your purse like me, I love this one: https://www.amazon.com/…/ref=vp_d_pb_TIER4_pbxcovv3_lp…
